The Gambia Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) received a two-man delegation from the Autoritรฉ de Regulation-Mauritanie at its headquarters along Kairaba Avenue. The delegation from Mauritania, which included Maham Abdallahi, a board member, and Zamel Mohamed Mahoud, Head of Networks and Services, visited PURA to learn about the Quality of Service (QoS) system and other regulatory matters.

The visiting delegation expressed delight at the opportunity to visit PURA to enhance their understanding of regulatory-related work and how to improve quality service delivery. They also showed gratitude and appreciation to PURA management for the warm reception they received on arrival.

Yusupha M. Jobe, the Director General of PURA, welcomed the delegates and emphasized the existing cordial and long-standing relationship between the two countries. He encouraged the visiting delegates to feel at home and make the best of their visit, as he assured them of PURA’s support and cooperation.

The visit by our sister regulatory authority from Mauritania is part of their study tour in The Gambia, which aims to familiarize themselves with quality-of-service standards. Introducing them to PURA’s mandate and its strategic functions, presentations, and site visits were conducted for the Mauritanian delegation to provide insights into the equipment and tools used for maintaining the quality-of-service standards in the country.
