The Gambia Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) in collaboration with Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), National Environment Agency (NEA), Gambia Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS), and Gambia Police Force (GPF) has on Wednesday commenced a joint operation to order the closure of all illegal fuel selling points within the Greater Banjul Area (GBA).  

This joint operation effort is in response to the recent rise in fire outbreaks resulting from illegal fuel vending, which are often set up in residential areas. So far, some centers have been raided, closed and goods seized.  

The Authority once again calls for the support and cooperation of the public in this worthy crusade.
