Stakeholder Meeting on LPG Regulations Draft TOR – PURA, 25th March 2025

The Gambia Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) holds a stakeholder meeting on the 25th of March 2025 at the PURA’s Conference room to review the Draft TOR for the development of LPG Regulations:

The regulator needs to review the draft Terms of Reference (TOR) to ensure transparency, inclusiveness, and practical relevance. Engaging stakeholders such as policy makers and industry players allows for real-world insights that help shape effective, balanced, and implementable regulations. Their input helps identify gaps and potential challenges, ensuring the TOR is clear, comprehensive, and aligned with both safety objectives and sustainability of the LPG market. Ultimately, it sets the foundation for developing effective, enforceable LPG regulations that ensure safety, environmental protection, and sustainable industry growth.

The Workshop brought together a wide range of stakeholders and experts involved in the petroleum sector. Key attendees include Ministry of Petroleum Energy and Mines (MOPEM), National Environmental Agency (NEA), The Gambia Standards bureau (TGSB), Gampetroleum, Oryx Energies, Jah Gas Company, Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), Tida Gas, Emlogix, Njegan Gas and Native Gas.

An improved regulatory framework will enhance the popularization of LPG as an energy sector objective and will contribute towards meeting the National Development Plan targets on clean and sustainable energy for the Gambia.
