The retreat has accorded PURA officials the chance to rethink appropriate corporate strategies to adequately advance and better promulgate and deliver on the Authority’s mandate. New strategic measures were suggested and adopted for the short- and long-term implementation. Equally, challenges faced over the years were highlighted and practical solutions proffered.
The Director-General outlined his vision for the Authority, indicated that he is poised to forge a smooth working relationship with the management and staff at all levels of the organisation. He pledged to create a conducive working environment for all irrespective of status.
“I envisaged a culture that encourages and rewards exceptional performance, continuous improvement, and fosters teamwork,” he told the staff.
The retreat provided a rare opportunity for staff to discuss the Authority’s critical issues and determine what worked and what did not in the past years. Recommendations were also given on how to move the institution to a better level in the coming years.
DG Jobe further stressed that accountability is a critical component that drives growth and progress towards the attainment of positive results.
