Cyber Security workshop on cyber security challenges, governance framework and international standards
As digital technologies advance rapidly and empower various industries, the digitalization process is accelerating across industries, ushering us into a digital, interconnected, and intelligent era. Alongside this transformation, cyber security has become a critical concern. Many enterprises are now confronted with challenges how to establish robust cyber security defenses through effective management and technical measures, essential for ensuring business success.
In this regard, PURA invited mobile network operators (MNOs) and vendors together to introduce and discuss the cyber security challenges, governance framework and international standards. The purpose is to improve the stakeholders’ capabilities and more importantly foster collaboration towards creating a secure and resilient digital ecosystem in the Gambia.

- International standards are essential for industry to address cybersecurity challenges.
- ISO27000 clearly defines framework and controls for cybersecurity management, which has been released by International Standard Organization.
- NESAS/SCAS is international unified standard for vendor product cybersecurity certification, which has been jointly developed by GSMA and 3GPP.
- MCKB is a comprehensive toolkit to help stakeholders identify, map and mitigate risk, which base been released by GSMA.
