Empowering Youth: PURA Launches Student Ambassador Drive Across West Coast Region Schools.

The Consumer Affairs Department went on field trip to three schools in the West Coast Region with the aim of recruiting new student ambassadors.
The first visit was conducted by the Department on the 19th of March 2025, at Kinderdorf Bottrop Technical Senior Secondary School and Gunjur Senior Secondary School. On the 20th of March 2025 another visit was made to Fatima Senior Secondary School in Bwiam.
This initiative aims to cultivate meaningful relationships with younger consumers, empowering them to effectively disseminate PURA’s role to their peers and within their households.
The visit was made by the Director of Consumer Affairs Ms. Jamilatou SaidyLeigh, Madeline Badji Consumer Affairs Manager and Batch Samba Willan Consumer Affairs Officer. The expected outcome of the visit is to identify and select a group of passionate students who can be engaged to effectively represent PURA within their schools and the community and make the ambassadors.
