PURA HOSTS SAINT MICHEL INTERNS FROM SENEGAL
The Permanent Secretary of The Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure, Mrs. Nancy Niang requested for PURA to offer a one month internship to seven students (7) from the University of Saint Michel in Dakar. The main objective of the internship is to enable the students to have a feel of the Anglophone mode of interaction in an official setting to enable them to prepare an internship report which is a key element of their training.
The University of Saint Michel is a technical and professional institution of higher education, which offers students a two year vocational training course in International Trade, Accountancy Finance and Marketing Communication.
During their stay in PURA, the students were introduced to the key functions of all departments within the institution. In addition, the students were put through a week long advocacy training on How to Speak with Power and Confidence. Here the students among other things, learnt about how to give an effective speech, how to listen effectively, how to conduct oneself during an interview and how to negotiate effectively.
PURA arranged for the students to visit NAWEC as well as spend time at Elton, FIB bank and Mogi Chicken to give them a better feel of working environments.
