PURA is mandated under Section 227 of the Information and Communications ACT 2009 to regulate both technical and content in the broadcasting sector in The Gambia, to preserve and promote the plural nature of the Gambian culture by ensuring that licensees include in their services programs reflecting the linguistic and cultural diversity of The Gambia.

It is in this regard that the Authority intends to procure a content monitoring system (Broadcasting compliance, recording, and monitoring platform) to enhance its regulatory function in the broadcasting sector.
