WORKING VISIT OF THE ERERA CHAIRMAN AND STAFF TO PURA
The Chairman of the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA) El Hadj Ibrahima Thiam led a delegation to PURA in Banjul from 25th to 26th March, 2013 for a working visit to PURA.
The ERERA delegation comprised the following:
• Mr. Ibrahima Thiam, Chairman of ERERA • Mr. Alagi Gaye, Council Member Economist • Mrs. Laureen Lokko, HR Admin & Finance Officer • Mrs. Aichatou Mayaki, Bilingual Secretary
The Main objective of the meeting was to finalise and sign the Framework Agreement between ERERA and PURA for effective commencement of preparations for the 4th ERERA forum. The Agreement would outline clearly the responsibilities of each party and well as discuss some of the logistical requirements.
The Chairman of ERERA, Mr. Thiam accompanied by the Director General of PURA, Mr. Abdoulie Jobe paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister of Energy, Mrs. Teneng Mba Jaiteh on Tuesday the 26th of March 2013. The Minister was briefed about the ERERA mission and the discussions with PURA. Mr. Thiam thanked the Minister for the strong Gambian delegation to the last ERERA forum and also for The Gambia's willingness to host this year's forum. The Minister assured him of her Ministry's commitment and support to PURA to host a successful forum this year. The chairman also paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of NAWEC and similar sentiments were expressed by both parties.

The Framework Agreement between ERERA and PURA was concluded and signed by the Director General and the ERERA Chairman on Tuesday the 26th March 2013 in the afternoon at the PURA Head Office.
