LISTENING TO CONSUMERS: IMPROVING SERVICES
The Bantaba Outreach is a biennial flagship initiative spearheaded by the Directorate of Consumer Affairs. This outreach aims to provide a platform for rural communities to directly engage with service providers, express their concerns, and share experiences regarding the services they receive.
During each Bantaba, 15 to 20 villages are carefully selected and visited. The sessions are typically held in open community spaces, allowing residents to freely voice their grievances and feedback on the regulated utility services. The PURA team, accompanied by representatives from the various service providers, participates in these engagements to hear first-hand the issues affecting consumers and to facilitate prompt and effective action where possible.
