Quality of Service Guidelines are intended to:
Create conditions for customer satisfaction by making known the quality of service which the service provider is required to provide and the user has a right to expect;
Measure the quality of service provided by the service providers from time to time and to compare them with the norms so as to assess the level of performance; and
Protect the interests of consumers of electronic communications services.Guideline
Services of the operators are continuously monitored in order to ensure quality as per the license standards. So far PURA conducted a comprehensive QoS survey of Mobile Operators in the coverage area.
The services of the three GSM operators, Gamcel, Africel and Comium were checked in all town and selected major cities throughout the country.
The mobile companies were encouraged to improve their quality of service through expansion of their existing network and systems.
