Another issue that is being addressed collectively at a national level is to improve the skill level amongst electricians. The aim is to ensure that personnel offering support services to clients for electrical work have the basic competency. Together with the National Training Authority as well as other stakeholders, PURA is developing standards as well as developing a national registration scheme to ensure that only qualified people carry out electrical work.

 

The main network system operator NAWEC is maintains an Approved list of pre-qualified list of sub-contractor who can carry out work such as network expansion etc.
